Asbestos Abatement

You have a duty of care to protect those who occupy, work in or visit your premises from exposure to harmful substances, including asbestos fibres. Failure to do so could result in prosecution. You could also be subject to litigation if anyone can prove that they contracted a related disease because of asbestos fibres present at your premises.

Asbestos removal or encapsulation, if done safely and correctly, is the long term solution for asbestos management, although if left in situ and managed effectively asbestos materials can remain safe within working environments for many years.

Asbestos may have been present in your premises for decades, undisturbed and posing little threat to anyone.

Of course, there is always the risk that external contractors such as telecommunications and electrical engineers, could damage the asbestos and cause dangerous fibres to be released.

Through the process of asbestos management, reviewing your management systems to take into account the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 together with surveys and inspections and updating any asbestos register you have, you should be in a position to identify most asbestos hazards, from high risk to low risk.

Should your management and risk assessment process conclude that this is the best solution, Ayerst Environmental can help specify, tender, procure and manage the whole process through a transparent management approach to ensure all abatement work is carried out in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and your asbestos management plan’.

DON’T RISK IT!

Ayerst Environmental can identify and locate all the asbestos on your premises. Through safe and effective management, assessment of risk and communication, people working in your premises can then be warned to stay clear of the asbestos or if more practical, it can be safely removed.
